I already have a personal website but I discovered that I wasn't writing as much as I wanted because it was overly difficult. So in pursuit of making it more easy for myself I decided to make a medium length blogging site for myself. A little bit of my favorite parts of other social sites but trying to keep it simple. Main ideas/goals: - short form headline (256 chars) - medium length body (4096 chars) - support big image uploads - infinite depth threads and replies - topic tagging (#) - markdown formatting in body - user tagging (@) - in the future add hubs (^) which would essentially be a managed topic (kinda like a subreddit) The main privacy concept here is "prox": - if a post is public then anyone can see it (unless it is marked sensitive in which case it requires login) - if a post is proc, then only people in its proximity have access. Proximity is the person who posted it, and anyone user who is tagged in the root message. Users tagged in subsequent messages will not gain access! User tags that are removed/added from the root message via an edit will have access revoked/added. More to come... EDIT: Woah! I have post editing now :)
